Description:
Come
join us to brighten someone’s
Valentine’s Day by making a card for
them that will warm their heart.
The cards will be given to seniors,
many of whom are home bound and
isolated, and to military personnel
and their families who have been
deployed overseas. We need your
creativity and thoughtfulness to
offer a personal touch that will be
really meaningful. We hope to see
you there!

We will provide the materials for
the project (although you are more
than welcome to bring some of your
own).

for Elder Abuse Prevention Month.
Volunteers are welcome to take the
ribbons with them to distribute to
family and friends as part of the
campaign. All ages are welcome!

Literacy Activities
for Head Start families

Description:
Family
Service Association is working with
ARAMARK to host literacy activities
at various Head Start locations
throughout the city during 2012 Head
Start recruitment. Join us to help
promote literacy to Head Start
families and children. You can
assist in fun activities with the
children such as reading stories and
playing games that promote literacy.
Head
Start is a program that provides
early childhood education and
development services to qualifying
children. It also provides the
parents with resources to family
strengthening, encourages parent
participation, helps families set
goals, and provides access to
community services.

Khakis for Kids Box Assembly

Description:
Khakis for Kids Box Assembly--Every
year, Family Service Association
collects school uniforms and
backpacks for local youngsters who
may be faced with a challenge in
meeting their school’s dress code.
The public is invited to donate new
or gently used khaki pants, shorts
and skirts as well as white collared
shirts. We place collection boxes in
various locations all over the
city. During this Family Volunteer
Day, we need your help to wrap the
collection boxes so that they look
attractive for the schools and
businesses that use them to collect
the uniforms and backpacks.
