Head Start
- Parent Advocate II (Forbes Head Start Site, San Antonio Independent School District) - The Parent Advocate II will provide strengths-based case management services, and utilize parent engagement and leadership strategies for identified high-needs Head Start families. Qualifications and Experience:  Preferably a current or former participant in a Head Start Program; have a High School diploma or GED equivalent and have previous supervisory experience. Prefer an Associates or Bachelor degree in a social service field and be certified in Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid. The Parent Advocate II understands cultural differences and is sensitive to the implications of culture for service delivery; able to utilize various learning techniques in the successful delivery of Family and Community Support Services, Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired and vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance required. Behavioral Health Department – Full-Time Clinician II – Family Counseling - The Clinician II serves in a professional counseling capacity to deliver behavioral health services on behalf of the agency for the clients that are enrolled. The Clinician II carries a full clinical caseload with the appropriate case mix of shorter term and longer term cases, accompanied by regular supervision. Counseling program services are provided in the client’s home and/or in various community-based locations. Requirements: Master’s Degree in social service/behavioral health field, with state license, i.e.: LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) or LMSW (Licensed Master Social Work).  A minimum of two years Post-Master Degree experience in clinical behavioral science; must be able to work evenings and weekends, travel required and in home visitation also required. Willingness to engage adolescent population in “structured” evidenced based therapeutic intervention required. Experience in substance abuse and juvenile justice system and bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Full-Time, Varying hours, Monday-Friday with some Saturdays. Part-Time Bus Monitors (Two positions needed, one part-time the other as a substitute monitor) – The Part-Time Bus Monitor, within the Head Start Department, works in collaboration with the Bus Driver to supervise children on the bus and greets parents and children during a bus route. The Bus Monitor is responsible for following Federal regulations, Licensing Requirements and agency protocols, with a focus on safety and promoting a positive riding experience for the children. Key functions include and are not limited to: greeting parents and children; ensuring each child is signed onto and off the bus by the authorized parent/adult, buckle the children into safety harness, provide transition activities and assist with other duties as determined by the Education Center Director or Transportation Supervisor. Qualifications and Experience:  High School Diploma or GED; current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification; knowledge of Head Start transportation service; ability to work with parents and children; ability to manage children on a bus; ability to work with a diverse population and Bilingual (English/Spanish) is desirable. Must have, or be willing to get before beginning work, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Pre-Service training, Head Start Education Center New Employee Orientation, Transportation Activities training and complete the Head Start Bus Monitor Training program.  Part-Time, Non-Exempt, hours 7 – 9 am and 2-4 pm, Monday-Friday, 20 hours per week. Head Start Program - Part-Time Motor Vehicle Operator - The Motor Vehicle Operator is responsible for the day-to-day transportation needs of all Head Start participants in accordance with Head Start regulations, licensing, guidelines, and agency standards. Safely operates bus to transport children to and from homes and the Head Start Centers.  Qualifications and Experience:  High School diploma or GED, knowledge of commercial vehicles, operations and maintenance. State of Texas Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and proof of insurance required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable. Part-Time, 29 hours per week, M-F, Non-Exempt.
